Albanian SKS Rifle – 1978 – 7.62x39mm

Product Description

We have a shipment of rare Albanian SKS rifles! Rifles purchased from this listing will all be from 1978. All SKS’s have been function tested before shipment, and most have a nice shiny bore! Generally, the outside of the rifles are rough with nice internals and will make great shooters. We have individually photographed and listed a selection of rifles to choose from! Most guns will have cosmoline and grime and will need a thorough cleaning before firing. We recommend having a gunsmith inspect all surplus firearms.

These rifles are C&R eligible.

SN – 02644 – Dark bore

Albanian SKS Rifle 1 – SN: 02598 – 5 Matching – Fair/Good
This rifle has a shiny bore but has some spots of pitting. The internal parts and stock are in nice shape but the exterior metal finish is rough. The bolt carrier is not Albanian.

Albanian SKS Rifle 2 – SN: 0180 – 6 Matching – Fair
This rifle has a shiny bore but has some spots of pitting about halfway down. The magazine has a good amount of rust/pitting on it and the rear of the stock is all chewed up. The rest of the rifle is in pretty decent shape though.

Non-Matching Parts – Carrier + Top Cover match each other, Gas Tube + Piston are unmarked, Bolt doesn’t match anything

Albanian SKS Rifle 3 – SN: 0108 – 8 Matching – Fair
This rifle is in fair condition with a shiny bore. There is rust/pitting on the exterior, but the internals are decent. The stock is also all intact with no broken vents, but the finish is mostly gone. This would definitely need a new coat of shellac or other finishing oil.

Albanian SKS Rifle 4 – SN: 04684 – 5 Matching – Fair
This rifle is in fair condition with a shiny bore. The exterior has spots of rust on most metal parts. The stock has scratches/dings throughout.
Matching Parts – Receiver, Trigger Guard, Magazine, Carrier, Top Cover
Non-Matching Parts – Rear sight, Gas Tube, Piston, Stock are illegible, bolt nonmatching.

Albanian SKS Rifle 5 – SN: 02932 – 10 Matching – Fair
This rifle is in fair condition with a shiny bore. All parts match on this rifle but there is rust on most metal parts. The stock is also well worn, and the sling loop is missing.

Albanian SKS Rifle 6 – SN: 01053 – 9 Matching – Poor
This rifle has a squib in the bore and a stuck casing. The stock is cracked at the recoil lug, but overall, the bluing is in very nice shape with little pitting. The safety is broken off but functional. This is definitely a gunsmith special rifle.

Albanian SKS Rifle 7 – SN: 02944 – 5 Matching – Good
This rifle has a shiny bore. The receiver and barrel have a heavy coat of cosmoline on the underside. The interior and exterior are in nice shape with most of the finish intact.

Non-Matching Parts – Bolt, Carrier, Top Cover, Gas Tube, Piston, all match each other, but not the receiver.

Albanian SKS Rifle 8 – SN: 02934 – 9 Matching – Good
This rifle has a shiny bore but there is pitting. A homemade sling is included on this rifle. It is in overall decent shape with spots of rust/pitting on most parts.

How we grade surplus parts/magazines/kits etc. 

New Old Stock (NOS) – all original parts, 100% original finish, may be in original packaging, minor storage wear.

EXCELLENT – all original parts. over 80% original finish, sharp lettering of numerals and designs on metal and wood, unmarred wood, fine bore.

VERY GOOD – all original parts, none to 30% original finish, original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp, clear lettering, numerals and designs on metal, wood scratched or bruised, bore disregarded.

GOOD – some minor replacement parts, metal rusted or pitted in places, cleaned or reblued, principal lettering, numerals and designs on metal legible, wood refinished, scratched, bruised, or cracks repaired, in good working order. Bore disregarded

FAIR – some major parts replaced, minor replacement parts may be required, metal rusted, may be lightly pitted all over, vigorously cleaned or reblued, rounded edges of metal and wood, principal lettering, numerals and design on metal partly obliterated, wood scratched, bruised, cracked or repaired where broken, in fair working order or can be easily repaired and placed in working order.

POOR – major and minor parts replaced, major replacement parts required, and extensive restoration needed, metal deeply pitted, principal lettering, numerals and design obliterated, wood badly scratched, bruised, cracked or broken, mechanically inoperative, generally undesirable as a collector’s item. Poor condition items are generally considered gunsmith special and are not eligible for returns.

TRENCH ART – items will have stickers, carvings of pictures, or writing of names, initials, numbers, towns, etc. no condition stated but items will be serviceable. 

RACK NUMBERED – any rack numbered magazine may be in very good to new old stock condition unless otherwise stated on the listing. 

All magazines in good or better condition have been tested and are guaranteed to function. Parts kits may be missing a small pin/part that was lost in demill/transportation.
