Step into Swiss firearms history with this stunning, all-original SIG PE-57 semi-automatic rifle—a civilian-market gem derived from the legendary Swiss Army Stgw 57 (Sturmgewehr 57), Switzerland’s first standard-issue self-loading battle rifle adopted in 1957. Produced in limited numbers (fewer than 2,000 PE-57s made total), this example represents the pinnacle of post-WWII European engineering: robust, precise, and built to last generations. Manufactured by Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft (SIG), the PE-57 mirrors the military Stgw 57 in every detail except its semi-automatic-only action, making it a collector’s dream and a joy for precision shooting. Chambered in the hard-hitting yet controllable 7.5x55mm Swiss cartridge (GP11), it delivers battle-rifle performance with the finesse of a target arm. The roller-delayed blowback system—shared with classics like the HK G3—ensures reliable cycling and minimal felt recoil, thanks to the straight-line stock design that aligns the bore directly with your shoulder. This rifle is in truly excellent condition: its original finish remains intact, with only the faintest storage wear on high points. The bore shines like new, and the action functions flawlessly smooth cocking, crisp trigger pull, and zero play in the fit. The furniture is unmarred, the elevated iron sights fold down neatly for transport. It ships with the original 10 round magazine.
Ideal for collectors of Swiss militaria, historical reenactors, or long-range enthusiasts seeking a non-NATO battle rifle that outperforms many modern semi-autos in accuracy and durability. The Stgw 57 series replaced four prior Swiss weapons (K31 rifle, Suomi SMG, LMG 25, and Zf. sniper) and served until the 1990s, with some reservists carrying it into the 2000s—proof of its timeless reliability. Don’t miss this untouched time capsule; opportunities for an all-original PE-57 like this are vanishingly rare.
Note: Curio & Relic eligible. Serials may vary.
